Complete Dubai Metro Guide
The Complete Dubai Metro Guide
Everything you need to ride the Dubai Metro with confidence — from buying a Nol card to finding the right station for every attraction. This guide pulls together our timings, fares, zones, rules and station pages in one place.
1. The Basics
The Dubai Metro is a driverless, air-conditioned network run by the RTA. It has two lines today — Red and Green — meeting at Union and BurJuman, with the Blue Line on the way. See the full metro map.
2. Tickets & Nol Cards
You pay with a rechargeable Nol card (Silver, Gold, Blue) or a paper Red Ticket. Fares are zone-based, from AED 3 with a Silver card. See tickets & fares and work out your trip with the fare calculator.
3. Timings
Trains run roughly 05:00–00:00 (later on Friday, from 08:00 on Sunday), every 2–7 minutes. Full detail on the timings page.
4. Rules & Etiquette
No eating or drinking, tap in and out, respect the Women & Children and Gold cabins, and mind the luggage limits. See rules & fines.
5. Where to Go
From the Burj Khalifa to the Gold Souk, most sights are a short ride away. Browse destinations by metro or jump straight to any station.
