The Metro Lines

Two lines are running today and a third is on the way. They meet at the Union and BurJuman interchanges, so you can cross the whole city on one ticket.

Red Line

The main artery from the airport through Downtown, DIFC and the Marina down to Expo.

Operating Hours

The metro runs every day, with slightly different hours on Friday and Sunday. Trains come every 2–4 minutes at peak times and every 5–7 minutes off-peak. See full timings →

Tickets & Fares

You pay with a rechargeable Nol card, and the price depends on how many zones you cross — not the number of stops. Silver is the standard card; Gold gives you the quieter premium cabin at double the fare; the Red Ticket is a paper option for occasional trips. Full fares & Nol cards →
